The Butterfly Children Fund
I worked with The Butterfly Children Fund to update their branding, including the logo and color palette, and redesign their website. The project focused on improving the photo galleries, promoting fundraising events, and providing more information about their annual Camp Spirit Colorado event.
Overview
The Butterfly Children Fund is a nonprofit that supports children and families living with Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB). I worked with them on a website redesign and branding update, including a new logo and color palette for The Butterfly Children Fund, a high-resolution recreation of the Camp Spirit Colorado logo, and a WordPress website with a customized theme and custom CSS.
Website Design & Development
The Goal
- Update the existing website and make it easier to use and navigate.
- Organize information for different audiences, including families, campers, volunteers, donors, and other supporters.
- Improve the photo galleries.
- Make fundraising events easier to find and promote.
- Provide more information about Camp Spirit Colorado.
- Make it easy for the client to update the website themselves.
What I Did
- Rebuilt the website in WordPress.
- Structured the site navigation around the information visitors were most likely to look for, including About, Camp Spirit Colorado, Events, Ways to Give, and Donate.
- Organized and updated content about EB, Camp Spirit Colorado, events, photo galleries, donations, and ways to get involved.
- Built the site using a WordPress theme, custom CSS, and plugins.
- Integrated CampDoc for camper applications and Square for online donations.
- Designed a new logo and color palette for The Butterfly Children Fund.
- Recreated the Camp Spirit Colorado logo as a high-resolution version for digital and print use.
- Considered usability, accessibility, and responsive design throughout the project.
The Result
- The new website has a responsive, modern design and is easy to navigate.
- The organization has a website they can update without needing a developer for every change.
- The new logo gives The Butterfly Children Fund a fresh, updated look.
- The Camp Spirit Colorado logo is available in a higher-resolution format for digital and print use.
Logo Design & Restoration

What I Did
- Redesigned the existing logo for The Butterfly Children Fund with a simpler design and fewer colors.
- Added the organization's name to the new logo design.
- Recreated the existing Camp Spirit Colorado logo in a higher-resolution format.
- Created versions of both logos that could be easily used for digital and print.
The Result
- The refreshed logo for The Butterfly Children Fund complements the redesigned website.
- Camp Spirit Colorado has a clean version of its existing logo with more flexibility in how it can be used.
